Hi, I'm your author and "Wings After the Weight" is my first novel. This is contemporary General Fiction : a reality-based story about family, trauma, and the messy unglamorous work of healing.
Fair warning: This book does not contain romance. You won't find a love interest swooping in to save Nandini Rajawat. But I promise you'll still feel it in your veins — the ache, the rage, the quiet triumph of a girl choosing herself for the first time.
This is my first time writing, and I'm learning as I go. If my sentences stumble or my pacing isn't perfect, I hope you'll read it as a first time author finding her voice alongside her main character. Respectful criticism is always welcome. I'm here to grow, and your feedback helps me do that.
I'm not pretending to be an expert. I'm here because this story wouldn't leave me alone. I wrote this for every girl told to wear her pain like jewelry. For every woman who was handed a crown and told not to complain about how much it cuts. I want thousands of other women and girls to read this and realize their worth doesn't need someone else's presence or validation to exist. You are whole on your own. And one thing Nandini taught me while writing her: your past can explain you, but it doesn't excuse you. Trauma isn't a free pass to become the storm you survived. Healing means you stop bleeding on people who didn't cut you.If you've ever felt too heavy, too quiet, or too much — this one's for us.
Thank you for reading my first, flawed, fiercely honest attempt at wings.
